Tentative Reopening Date: June 1st

Due to the fact that Alabama reported more new cases of COVID-19 last week than any other week, we have decided to delay opening until June 1st to give us a chance to see if the numbers skyrocket now that businesses are opening. We will only be offering appointments to returning clients, so we had to turn off on-line booking. You must book by calling 205-623-1177

Client COVID-19 Precautions
as mandated by the state.

A) You cannot wait in the reception area. You must wait in your car until called by your therapist. Please be waiting in the parking lot at least 5 minutes prior to your appointment time.

B) Do NOT enter the office if you have a fever of 100.4 degrees or more, or if you believe you may have been exposed to the Coronavirus within the last 2 weeks. You will not be charged if you cancel prior to your appointment.

C) When you enter the office, we will take your temperature using a no-contact thermometer, then please proceed directly to the bathroom to wash your hands.

D) Intake and outtake will be done in the treatment room to limit contact with other clients

E) Please pay by credit or debit card if possible.

F) Maintain a 6 foot distance from others, with the exception of your therapist.

G) Since cloth chairs and carpet cannot be properly sanitized, we have paper or towels to put on the chairs and have socks (optional) that you can wear so your bare feet don’t have to touch the carpet. We can remove the socks when we massage your feet.

Our COVID-19 Precautions

The following is our policy regarding COVID-19 Safety

1) We will not come to work if we have a fever, symptoms or believe we have been exposed to the virus. If we don’t come to work, we will try to get another therapist to take your appointment.

2) We will wear face masks when we are within 6 feet of you and wear a clean “smock” for each client. (I interpret this as we can change shirts, not that we have to wear an apron)

3) We have removed the fleece face pillow pads and replaced the cloth covered face pillows with vinyl ones. We have a protective barrier covering the padding on the table that can be sanitized between clients.

4) We will no longer use blankets unless you ask for one, and if you do, it will be clean and washed again before being used for another client.

5) As always, we will use clean linens for each client and wash our hands/arms before and after each massage.

6) We will sanitize (door knobs, pens, light switches, jewelry caddies, bathroom fixtures, credit card terminal, etc.) after each massage.

7) We will use UV lights daily to sanitize the treatment rooms.

8) We will not touch your face. Exception: Becca will continue to offer TMJ work because she always wears gloves when she is doing it. She will also wear a face mask if she can find any.

Why You Need a Pre-Wedding Couple’s Massage

The experts tell us that planning a wedding can be one of the most stressful events in our lives. It goes without saying that if weddings are stressful, a massage – for both of you – is a great way to let go of wedding related stresses and relax before the big day.

Wedding planning is manic, especially in those last few weeks. It feels like a lot of lists, checking that things are in place, a bunch of running around and coordinating, and a lack of quality sleep. If you’re working at the same time, it can feel overwhelming, no matter how much you’re looking forward to your big day.

This is why you really need to add ‘schedule a couple’s massage’ to your to-do list during wedding week, as close to the day as you can manage. We all know that the week or so before a wedding is unbelievably chaotic, and there’s so much to remember and you’re worrying about what is going to go wrong.  A couple’s massage presses the pause button on the endless ‘have you spoken to…’ and ‘where did I put the…’

Stellar Massage has a wonderful couple’s room for you to relax and escape from all that (be sure to mention it’s a pre-wedding massage for extra TLC from your massage therapists.) If you’ve never had a couple’s massage before, you’re missing out! You’ll be in a room with two massage tables. You’ll both receive the massage therapist’s complete attention during your treatment; just in the same room so that you can be together while being kneaded and relaxed. You can both ask for different things too, so you might enjoy a deep tissue type massage while your partner prefers a lighter touch. You’ll both be asked about your preferred firmness and if you have any areas you want to focus on.

After the massage, you’ll be left feeling completely relaxed and happy endorphins will be flooding your system. The stress of chasing floral arrangements and arguments over the seating plans for the wedding breakfast will be forgotten. Once the weight of wedding planning has been lifted, you can enjoy the run-up to the nuptials with added serenity, and the shared experience will have bonded you even more.

The hemp used in our Full-Spectrum CBD lotion is organic Colorado hemp certified by the US Hemp Authority. The oil is extracted using kosher cold press extraction and is 3rd party tested. We do not remove the THC as it is within the legal limits of .3% or less and works with the other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavinoids to maximize the benefit you receive. I had it analyzed by a 3rd party lab and the Certificate of Analysis is available here.

Want to know more about Full-Spectrum, Broad-Spectrum and Isolate? This is a great, detailed and easy to understand article about CBD in general. Because it is inclusive of CBD from Marajuana as well as hemp, it warns that full-spectrum contains THC and could get you high and pop positive on a urinalysis. Not only is ours from Hemp, but it’s a lotion, so this warning does not apply.

I have a full CBD FAQ page available on our website. I’ll add to it as I find new information that I think you will find useful.

We’ve Moved!

This blog isn’t the only thing that’s new!

We moved to a larger location last August. We are off Hwy 31 in the Diamond Head building (3-story white office building) in the Hoover Court Shopping Center behind Wells Fargo. Our new location has 4 treatment rooms and TWO bathrooms, one off of reception. Having a bathroom off reception may not seem like a big deal, but in our prior location you had to walk through my office and our break/storage room to get to the bathroom. In fact, lots of people had to walk through my office since it was between the treatment rooms and the break room/bathroom, so another advantage of the new location is I now have an office that doesn’t double as a hallway. We also have a larger couples room.

I purchased two spa tables (the head of the table raises up and the knee area raises) for the comfort of any of our clients who are uncomfortable lying flat on their backs. This applies mostly to our prenatal, oncology or geriatric clients.

We have also added Oncology Massage and CBD upgrades and CBD Lotion Sales , but I think those rate a separate post, so stay tuned or check out links on the main website for more detail on those.

I’ve added a coffee table and more chairs since this pic was taken. Our previous reception area was much smaller.
